Community Development Group

Promotes the building of strong communities through the provision of advisory services, information, Lottery Grants, the Community Organisation Grants Scheme (COGS) and other grants, which develop community capacity to address local issues.

Community Employment Group (CEG) works alongside communities to support them achieve social and economic prosperity through local employment and enterprise development. After many years of providing terrific support for local communities, the group will be disestablished on 31 March and the work transferred to the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Mission Statement
The New Zealand YMCA is a community organisation, based on Christian principles, which aims to enable individuals and families to develop physically, mentally, and spiritually and enjoy a healthyquality of life.

The Council is an umbrella organisation for women's organisations with 47 national societies affiliated. NCWNZ has 35 branches throughout the country at which 150 societies are represented. The Council, through study, discussion and action seeks to serve women, the family and the community both nationally and internationally.
 
A monthly circular both distributes information on many issues and gives opportunity for women to respond to questionnaires on a wide range of topics. Submissions are made on many matters, thus giving women the opportunity to have their voices heard on current issues.

Central Otago REAP

Central Otago REAP supports lifelong learning. REAP is a major provider of educational facilitation services in rural Central Otago. We are primarily
funded by the Ministry of Education although we actively seek external
contracts to provide further learning opportunities to the wider Central
Otago community.

REAP personnel work within the community to provide
learning opportunities in Early Childhood, schools and in the adult
community.

Southland REAP

    Southland REAp run different courses for the rural people of Southland from Stewart Island to Glenorchy except the Invercargill area.
     
    Southland REAP is contracted to the Ministry of Education and covers the areas of Early Childhood, Schools and Community Education.
     
    Among current courses are Computing, Communication Skills, Construting CV's, Job Searching, Basic Cooking and Sewing, Embroidery and Sign Language.
