This site has been developed by a group of women representative of a wide range of organisations throughout the south of the south. It has been a loose group, with the common purpose to improve communication, provide opportunities, both social and economic, and ensure that people are aware of issues that any of us feel are important.
After several months of informal and infrequent meetings we decided on using the cheapest, quickest and most exciting type of communication, the Internet. We have attempted to overcome some of the limitations of access to the Internet by placing modems in four resource centres. These are: Middlemarch, Fairlie, Nightcaps, and Waimate.
If you would like to read more about the trials and tribulations of getting Not Just up and running, you might like to read the article, Creating an Internet-based Information Network for Rural Women (80 K - requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).
If you wish to make a comment on how we can improve the site please let us know. We look forward to filling the gaps as we hear from you. We want this site to reflect your needs - send us a message - and why not fill out the Guest Book while you are here. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please tell us.
The information we provide may not always represent a balanced view on a particular issue. If you consider an issue to be biased, please let us know what you would like to added.
Please visit us again. This site will be updated regularly and Events & Activities on 1st and 15th of each month.
If you know of a group or organisation that has information for women in the rural community not already mentioned here, please send us an email or, as a desparate measure, fax or post a disk containing the information to:
