Mission Statement
“To be effective in achieving a co-ordinated
approach to fostering employment,
welfare, arts, culture and recreation
opportunities within our Community,
in conjunction with those local organisations
involved.”
The Resource Centre
services the Waimate Township & District,
which extends from the Pareora River
in the North to the Waitaki River
in the South and inland to the Hakataramea
Valley. We are administered by a
Trust, and the day-to-day running
relies on funding from Lottery & COGS
grants. A Co-ordinator is employed
for 40 hours per week, and in June
2004, we secured 30 hours’ funding
for 2 part-time receptionists, who
had previously worked as Volunteers. In September 2002,
we became a Heartlands Centre, an
across-government initiative
that improves access to Government
services for people in provincial
and rural New Zealand. Further
information on agencies attending/information
held can be found at:
