Rural Women’s Week 19th -27th May 2006
(Scroll down for pictures. Click here for more photos)

This event kicked off with more than 25 events taking place during the week. In stark contrast, the inaugural week in 1999 had a choice of just 5 events and activities to attend!

This year we had a wonderful response yet again with 234 women all trying a new activity, craft, sport or skill at our "Be you and have a go" days. In total, just on an amazing 2000 people in total attended the week's events.

The theme for the week was Attitude, and there was plenty of that as women listened, learnt, created and took part in a total of 30 different events and activities.

Rob Guest was a wonderful guest artist for the week, performing to a packed Balclutha Memorial Hall.

Keynote speakers Tracey Richardson and Amanda Millar were both well received and certainly gave us two very different perspectives on life, goals and dreams. A particular success was our "This one's for the blokes" night with guest speaker Psychologist Nigel Latta on "Parenting for Dads."

Move over Trinny & Susannah, Positively Clutha Women took on their own make over promotion with the help of Balclutha clothing businesses Traces, Entity, Top Place, H & J Smith, Hairworkz and Odessey International beauty therapists.

Local clothing designer Donna Gibbons took the lucky winner Shona Preddy shopping and then she got the full hair and make up treatment. To top the prize off local limousine company Clutha Valley coachlines whisked Shona and the friend who nominated her to an evening out with motivational speaker Tracey Richardson.
