Communities Trust:
Funding
Rural Communities Trust
The Rural Communities Trust recognises that living in a rural community can mean
facing barriers to education, health and other services.
Each year the Rural Communities
Trust approves grants to individuals, families and groups with a diverse range of
needs. So far, nearly 850 grants have been approved, totalling over $600,000.
Examples
of what the Rural Communities Trust is willing to support are:
- financial assistance for home aid and transport for handicapped
or disabled, or people in ill health
- transport costs for special days for correspondence
school and disabled rural students
- library books, equipment and remedial reading materials
for schools

Sport
and Recreation New Zealand
(SPARC) was
formed in February 2002
following the merger
of the Hillary Commission,
the New Zealand Sports
Foundation and the policy
arm of the Office of
Tourism and Sport. A

developed in conjunction
with the Funding Information
